A sentimental Hawaiian and Indian wedding at the Boston Public Garden

Marisa and Balaji met in San Diego five years ago when they both swiped right! They hit it off immediately and have been together ever since – although Marisa believes they met many lifetimes ago given how deeply their souls connected right away! They moved to the East Coast together and became New Englanders! Balaji proposed at a quintessential New England spot, the Flume Gorge in the White Mountains of New Hampshire! They booked a cabin for the weekend to celebrate Balaji becoming an officially published scientist, but little she Marisa know that he had plans for her too! He popped the question by the waterfall and it was perfect! When Coronavirus isn’t raging on, they love hopping on planes and exploring the world, trying new foods, hitting the great outdoors, binging crime shows, road trips with great playlists, spending time with family, and being the best aunt and uncle ever.

When it came to their wedding, they knew they wanted something intimate, like just the two of them and an officiant! They planned a fall foliage filled, earthy elopement at the Arnold Arboretum, but when the forecast for their big day began to look dicey, they swapped the Arb for the Public Garden. They arrived looking STUNNING on their wedding day, took photos of all the beautiful spots in the Public Garden and Beacon Hill, and right as we ended their pre-ceremony photos, the clouds broke and the rain came. But – not before they could share their very special message to everyone from their wedding day. They set up the ceremony space with traditional Hindu items like statues, flower petals, and food offerings, wore a jai mala (flower garland), and Priscilla the officiant wore a Maile ti leaf lei from Hawaii. They read vows to each other, cried, kissed, and were congratulated by their families on Zoom! Marisa and Balaji danced around in the pouring rain to end their shoot before heading to Maine for their honeymoon.
