An elegant spring wedding at The Bowery Hotel in NYC

Katherine and Ryan met in Spanish class at Rhodes College nine years ago, where Ryan was floored by just how much English Katherine managed to speak each session. When Katherine studied abroad, Ryan crammed his 6’4” frame into an airplane and flew over 20 hours to visit her in New Zealand. Adventuring together solidified what they already knew: they were so lucky to have found each other.

After graduating, they moved to New York City and later settled into a Tribeca apartment with their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Henry. Life together has been full of laughter, love, and just enough chaos (mostly thanks to Henry).

Katherine & Ryan’s wedding at The Bowery Hotel was everything they dreamed of for their NYC celebration. After a rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks at Casa Carmen in Tribeca, they got ready at the iconic Bowery Hotel in Manhattan. Katherine wore a strapless Vera Wang gown, Ryan wore an Armani tux, and Henry joined them for adorable NYC wedding photos on the terrace. Their heartfelt ceremony took place in front of the hotel’s famous green tiled fireplace surrounded by lush spring florals.

Guests enjoyed signature drinks and passed appetizers during cocktail hour in the moody bar with floor to ceiling windows, then it was time for Katherine & Ryan’s first dance under the disco ball. While the band played a short dance set, the reception room was ready for a reveal – the rich green curtains were pulled back to show off the STUNNING space. Whimsical florals and tall pastel candles sat atop cream colored linens and patterned baby blue table runners. The tasseled menu cards sat atop crisp white plates with gold silverware next to gold-rimmed goblets. Guests were amused to find their seats using hand-calligraphed paper taxi cabs. After cutting their elegant four-tier cake (with a miniature version of Henry at the bottom tier), Katherine changed into a fringe mini dress and they danced the night away – a perfect ending to a classic New York City wedding.
