Frances & Martin’s shared love of medicine, travel, and negronis brought them together while working as doctors at Cambridge Hospital – the start of a story that led to an unforgettable Boston and Cambridge wedding. Years later, Martin proposed to Frances in the romantic Luxembourg Gardens in Paris, setting the tone for a celebration blending European elegance with local New England charm.
They chose the Harvard Art Museums in Cambridge, MA as their wedding venue – a meaningful choice since they’re both Harvard Medical School faculty and share many fond memories there. Surrounded by the museum’s historic architecture and incredible art collections, they opted for a romantic palette of reds, pinks, and whites that let the beauty of this Cambridge wedding venue shine. Frances wore an elegant off-the-shoulder gown she found in her hometown of Toronto, perfectly complementing the museum’s refined setting.
Their ceremony took place outdoors at the European-inspired Adolphus Busch Hall, part of the Harvard Art Museums and a hidden gem among Boston and Cambridge wedding venues. Frances & Martin hosted two cocktail hours – the first with fruity mocktails, lemonade, popcorn stations, and passed hors d’oeuvres in the courtyard; the second inside the museum with signature drinks like French 75s and, of course, negronis, while guests explored priceless works of art in the galleries.
Dinner featured a romantic tablescape framed by the museum’s architecture, and their simple three-tier cake decorated with red, pink, and white flowers was paired with raspberry lemon filling and macarons. Frances later changed into a silky embroidered one-shoulder puff sleeve dress to dance the night away – the perfect modern touch to end this stunning Cambridge wedding at one of the city’s most unique venues.
