Celebrating in a big way today! The LA Times consulted wedding planners and industry pros for their latest piece, “The ‘Modern Barn’ Rules: How to Elevate Your Wedding Venue and Skip the 2016 Cliches” and I was grateful to be included!
With 15 years of barn weddings behind me (and Anna & Tyler’s Cape Cod farm wedding most recently last fall) I had a lot to offer on what it actually takes to modernize the classic barn wedding.
“Build the celebration around the property, whether it’s a coastal barn, apple orchard, or flower farm. Prioritize a farm-to-table menu that features in-season, locally grown produce,” remarks Lena Mirisola, owner of Lena Mirisola Photography. “Skip the props and signage and invest in beautiful textured linens, romantic candles, and florals that feel natural to the surroundings, not overly designed.”
