An intimate, emotional wedding in Seaport, Boston

Christina and Mike go together like ice cream and sprinkles. After a series of bad online dates for them both, they swiped right in 2017. They quickly realized they lived across the street from each other in Boston, so they went out for drinks before Christina took Mike to a networking gala… “Risky, but it paid off!” says Christina. After the first few dates, they became inseparable. They bonded over their mutual love of Curb Your Enthusiasm, travel, food, and in particular, ice cream – the first time Christina went over to Mike’s condo, he had 28 pints of ice cream from ice cream stores all over the country in his freezer! They moved in together in 2018 and bought their first home together a year later.

To say these two have an ice cream obsession is a gross understatement They plan their trips around ice cream stands, have matching ice cream bathing suits for the summer… oh, and Mike proposed with a custom pint that said “Christina, will you marry me?” So it was only fitting that they celebrate their engagement with their favorite things – doughnuts from @blackbirddoughnuts and pizza & ice cream from @piccoboston (you gotta check it out here!)

When it came to their wedding, they knew they wanted something small. And by small, I mean no guests – just the two of them, a photographer, and an officiant. They had their first look on the waterfront deck of the ICA before walking down the Seaport Harborwalk to find the perfect cobblestone ceremony spot. They read cards they had written for each other and shed many many tears (happy / overjoyed / loving tears!) before exchanging rings and enjoying their first kiss as husband and wife. Then the fun began!

They walked over the bridge to downtown Boston, stopping at Rowe’s Wharf for photos before hitting their home street of Broad Street. Christina spotted some ice cream graffiti on their street right before the big day, which was a lovely gift from the universe (and the street artists of Boston). They grabbed their beautiful wedding cake from SoulCake, cut it with Kate Spade utensils, and enjoyed it in Post Office Square, feeding each other at their now public wedding reception. They ended the shoot spraying a sparkly gold bottle of champagne and toasting to married life. The rain and storms held off the entire afternoon (despite carrying 3 umbrellas around the whole time) and there was a vibrant pink and blue sunset to end their perfect day. Congrats Christina and Mike!!! Here’s to many more pints of ice cream!!!

Thank you to the amazing vendors!
