An intimate SRV wedding in the South End, Boston

Christina and Amy met in college in a summer class. Biomedical ethics to be exact… very light conversation. They started dating that summer going into their junior year, and unknowingly both applied to the same study “abroad” program. By January, they not only ended up “abroad” in Los Angeles together, but also got the same internship. Christina and Amy ended up interning together full time at the Make a Wish foundation in LA, driving to and from work together every day and working at side by side desks. Almost 8 years later, they are back to working at desks side by side (hello COVID work from home!)

They got engaged in June 2019 in Bordeaux, France, where they were kicking it with five of their best friends for the USWNT’s journey through the World Cup. After a mini trip away from the group at a spa and vineyard before their flight home the next day, they both had the same idea of ordering a cheese board and champagne up to the room to sit out on the balcony overlooking the vineyard. 3 sips of champagne in, Amy proposed. They kissed and celebrated and Christina said yes, but then got strangely quiet. After excusing herself to go into the other room to “get her phone” she returned to the balcony with a ring box and proposed right back to Amy. They had planned the same engagement!

Being South End natives, they wanted to keep their elopement local (and a surprise!), so the SRV patio in all of its bistro lit glory was the perfect place for a tiny wedding. They read vows, exchanged rings, and made it OFFICIAL with only me and Priscilla the Justice of the Peace as their witnesses! We ran around the South End before doing the #1 thing they wanted on their wedding day – to spray each other with bottles of champagne.

Christina & Amy, here’s to many more years of yummy dinners out, breakfast in bed, salty Cape Cod air on summer nights, European adventures, winter ski trips, and a lifetime of silliness and love.
