Six years ago, Jaclyn and Adrián had their first date in El Retiro Park in Madrid! Jaclyn, a New Jersey native, was earning her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, and Adrián grew up in Spain. They spoke English and Spanish at their little picnic and hit it off. Jaclyn had to return home from her time studying abroad, so they kept in touch overseas. Adrián wrote love letters to Jaclyn and mailed them to her – how romantic?! After back and forth long distance, Adrián got a job in Davis Square and Jaclyn in Saugus! Finally together. They got engaged in Portland, Maine, then got a PUPPY! That’s when they started planning their multicultural Boston wedding.
These two planned a wedding at the Hampshire House right across from the Boston Public Garden, complete with a trolley tour of the city for their guests and dinner at Uncommon Feasts… welp, that didn’t go to plan ♀️ Instead, Jaclyn walked down the aisle to a ukulele strumming underneath the willow trees in the garden on their original date, 10/10/20!⠀
They had a morning ceremony (so that Adrián’s family in Spain could attend via Zoom, time difference!) in both English and Spanish, read their own vows to each other, and sealed the deal with a big kiss and biodegradable confetti! AND Kuma, maid of pupper, best girl, was the smiley star of the day, too She wore a mask made out of her mom’s wedding dress – how unique! We trekked all the way through Beacon Hill (stopped for some champagne sips) to the Longfellow Bridge to enjoy the breeze (by breeze I mean 40MPH wind guests) and their favorite view of Boston CONGRATS Jaclyn & Adrián!
