Monica and Raj met 4 years ago for the first time through a dating app in their home city of Boston. The connection was pretty instant, and it wasn’t long before they were spending all their time together eating donuts all over town. Each year since has been filled with travel, friends, family, great food, and of course their two pups Fiona and Winston. They planned a huge wedding in The Poconos, PA for the spring of 2020, but postponed due to COVID. However… it was about damn time they got married already! So they decided to hold a six guest wedding (just their parents and siblings) at Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston.
They held a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony at Monica and Raj’s new home in Somerville in the morning, then swapped outfits for an American ceremony in the afternoon. Monica’s brother officiated the ceremony, Raj’s brother performed a reading, and Monica’s brother and sister-in-law performed readings over Zoom from Canada! They celebrated with cake and champagne from the chefs at the Fairmont, explored the 100 year old hallways and ballrooms and soaring marble ceilings, then headed over to the Public Garden for family photos. They walked along the cobblestones of Beacon Hill, then ended in their beloved home of Somerville on the Somerville Community Path, where they both would walk to and from the train to work together every day. A perfect ending to the perfect day!!!
