Meg & Joe: separated by an ocean for far too long, reunited in Boston for a secret wedding in the Public Garden. Meg’s family attended in Boston, Joe’s family watched from Ireland, and both families celebrated with dozens of Guinnesses and good wishes for the couple at MJ O’Connor’s afterwards. Joe’s Hurley sticks didn’t arrive in time for the big day… but they did end the night with midnight Tayto sandwiches (both very Irish traditions)
A little backstory for ya: Meg and Joe met at Brunch at the end of Joe’s six week road trip down the East Coast. They hit it off right away, but he had to leave for NYC to catch a flight back to Ireland. Meg and Joe kept in touch, and when Meg’s cousin left to study abroad in Ireland, Meg came along! A year later, Meg was offered a job in London… and knew it was meant to be. They championed long distance from Ireland to England for two years until Joe finally moved to London!
During the pandemic, Meg’s visa expired… so for almost a year they lived thousands of miles apart during the most challenging, scary, and lonely time for the entire world. They mailed silly cards to each other, FaceTimed, and dreamed of the day they could wake up next to each other, make dinner together, or go grocery shopping together.
