A decade after they started dating at UMass Amherst and a proposal on one of their neighborhood walks through South Boston, Siena and Derek were ready to tie the knot on Cape Cod. These two have been building a life together for ten years, and it shows.
Siena and Derek’s Wychmere Beach Club wedding on the Cape narrowly dodged this weekend’s stifling heat wave, landing instead on a 75 degree day with a steady ocean breeze off the water in Harwich Port. Siena wore a drop-waist ballgown with delicate buttons down the back and Derek sported a classic tux to complete their timeless look. The bridesmaids wore a mix of mismatched dresses that echoed the colors and textures of the sky, the ocean, and the dune grass around them, and Siena carried a bouquet with hanging amaranthus, whimsical chamomile, and white roses. The whole wedding party paired seamlessly with the Cape Cod landscape around them.
After Irish and Italian ceremony blessings, they sealed it with a kiss, then joined everyone for oysters on the top deck as the sun set. After dinner, a saxophonist launched into “My Heart Will Go On” and the entire room went wild – one of those spontaneous moments everyone there will be talking about for years. Before Siena slipped into a silk fringed champagne dress for the dance floor, the newlyweds cut their cake adorned with her grandparents’ topper from their 1956 wedding, a full circle moment.
