Nancy: A classy native Washingtonian. Bruce: A Pennsylvania man with Boston roots. After meeting on everyone’s favorite dating app (Tinder) on Leap Day 2016, these two decided to swipe right on a future together.
As Nancy says, “Over the past year and a half, we’ve been building a new ship — stronger, resilient — that we can sail again. We have had our fair share of challenges in our short time together, but we have stood by each other’s side throughout it all and proven we’re committed — in sickness and in health.”
They flew to Boston from their home in Washington, DC last night, attended a court proceeding in the morning to circumvent the 10 day waiting policy for MA marriage licenses (and succeeded), and headed to the State House to be married by a very dear friend of theirs and former Massachusetts governor, Mitt Romney. A private ceremony on the front balcony was everything they could have asked for – tearing up a little during their vows to each other, and ending in a prayer for their future. The two are gearing up to call their family and friends to tell them the news (yes, this was the classic definition of an elopement) and board another plane tonight back to DC!
