Frances & Martin’s mutual love of medicine, negronis, and traveling the world brought them together while both doctors at Cambridge Hospital. On a trip to France a few years after their meeting, Martin surprised Frances with a proposal at the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris!
Frances and Martin had many fond memories at the Harvard Art Museums in Cambridge, MA, and are both Harvard Medical School faculty, so it was the perfect place for them to get married. They opted for a romantic design palette of reds, pinks, and whites, but made sure to let the art and architecture of both venues speak for themselves! Frances wore a flowing, romantic off-the-shoulder gown that she picked out in her hometown of Toronto.
After an outdoor, European-inspired garden ceremony at Adolphus Busch Hall (owned by the museum), Frances & Martin had two cocktail hours! Their first included fruity mocktails, passed appetizers, popcorn and snack stations, and fresh lemonade. At the second cocktail hour, guests wandered the museum galleries with signature cocktails – a Negroni of course, and a French 75. After a luxurious dinner, they cut a simple three-tired cake with white, pink, and red flowers on it (raspberry lemon flavored!) and macarons. Frances changed into a stunning silky embroidered one-shoulder puff sleeve dress for the dance floor!
