Sarah and Philippe met seven years ago in the very spot they said their wedding vows: at Boston College. They were at the same party during Sarah’s freshman year when a total stranger introduced them. They talked, danced a little, and Sarah left with her friends. Philippe managed to track her down through the school’s volleyball roster and requested her as a friend on Facebook, and the rest was history! After graduation, they were doing long distance from Boston and London, then Boston and San Francisco, and as of the day after their wedding, they are finally in San Fran together!
Sarah’s parents live in Brazil and Philippe’s in London, and while both their families were planning on flying to Boston for their originally planned Boston City Hall elopement, COVID-19 sadly ruined all those plans. Instead, they got married at Boston College, a place so special to them with just their officiant, two best friends, and Sarah’s American host family. They filmed the ceremony and their family members watched a live stream on Zoom. They waved hello and blew kisses to their families, sending all their love. Sarah and Philippe had a joyful first look, shed tears during their vows to each other, celebrated with the biggest smiles in the world, then popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate their marriage. Life doesn’t always go to plan (especially during a pandemic) – but Sarah and Philippe knew they could handle anything as long as they have each other. CONGRATS you two!
